Rules and Format

Tournament
Structure

  • Age Groups: U9, U11, U14, U18
  • Up to 40 teams per group
  • Each tournament = 6–7 weeks
  • Matches are on Fridays and Saturdays
  • Stage 1: Group Stage
  • Stage 2: Knock-out Stage*
  • Stage 3: Finals
  • *Top 2 teams from each group progress to the knock-out stage.

Match
Format

  • 4 players per team (3 outfield + 1 goalkeeper)
  • Maximum 2 substitutes per team
  • 12-minute matches (no halftime)
  • Matches start at the scheduled time. If only one player is present, the match begins
  • After a 3-minute no show, the match is forfeited 3–0
  • Kick-offs taken from the center spot
  • Ball is only out of play if it fully leaves the cage
  • Goals must be scored from inside the opposition half
  • Rolling substitutions allowed at any time (referee approval required)
  • Slide tackles are allowed but must be controlled

Scoring
System

  • Win = 3 points
  • Score Draw = 2 points
  • Goalless Draw = 1 point
  • Loss = 0 points

    Knockout Format –
    Golden Goal

    • Each team selects 1 goalkeeper and 1 outfielder
    • Players start back-to-back with the ball between them
    • On the buzzer, a 2v2 begins
    • Goalkeepers are allowed to leave their area
    • First team to score wins

    Goalkeeper
    Rules

    • Each team must have a fixed goalkeeper
    • Goalkeeper must stay in their area at all times
    • Only exception: during Golden Goal 2v2, the goalkeeper may leave their area
    • Distribution must be a throw, drop-kick, or ground pass
    • Ball must stay below head height
    • Any ball above head height = penalty to the opponent
    • Goalkeeper cannot pick up the ball from a direct pass-back

    Discipline

    • Referees’ decisions are final
    • Aggression, dissent, arguing, or moaning = yellow card + 2-minute suspension
    • Two yellow cards = red card + suspension from next match
    • Straight red = immediate removal and potential disqualification
    • Abusive behavior from parents or spectators will not be tolerated
    • Abuse toward referees, players, or staff = immediate removal and possible team disqualification

    Kit and Equipment
    Requirements

    • Teams must wear jerseys provided by 4v4
    • No metal studs or cleats allowed
    • Goalkeepers may wear gloves
    • Shinpads are mandatory
    • Players must bring their own caps, water bottles, and sunscreen
